FYROM "Macedonians" are descedants of the Ancient Macedonians.

FYROM "Macedonians" are Slavs who came in the Balkan penninsula during the 7th century A.D., that is much later, about 1000 years after the times of Alexander the Great.

FYROM "Macedonians" language has its roots to the ancient Macedonian language.

The Ancient Macedonians spoke in Greek, as all early and modern historians reported. Alexander the Great had for his tutor Aristotle, the greatest Greek philosopher. His mother Olympia, bear a distinguished Greek name, as his father Philip.

FYROM "Macedonia" is the region where Alexander the Great lived.

The capital of the Ancient Macedonians was Pella, about 15 km near Salonica, in Greece. All archaeological foundings were discovered in Greece, recently the royal tomb of Philip with Macedonian gold items and weapons, in Vergina, in the Greek province of Macedonia. FYROM "Macedonia" was part of the broader Macedonia of Philip and Alexander, which extended to all Greek Macedonia, part of Thrace and Epirus, and reached as south as Olympus.

FYROM "Macedonia" has every right to claim the name "Macedonia" for this country, "Macedonians" for its people and "Macedonian" language for their language.

FYROM "Macedonia" has no right at all to adopt those names, as they are part of the great Greek History and Heritage. It's completely absurd and anethical to steal and adopt the history of another country, meaning only that you don't have any of your own. It would be as if the Germans claimed one day that they were ...British, or that the Chinese that they are the real ...Japanese descentans. Another example: what if the Croatians, one day, decided to declare themselves as the real Romans? Wouldn't it be rediculous?

The Greeks do not like FYROM and its people and are creating all tis fuss for nothing.

The Greeks like and support all the neighbor Balcan States, both economically (most investmens in FYROM are from Greek companies) and politically (supports their desire for EU and NATO acceptance). But Greece and its people will not tolerate the counterfeiting of its History and Heritage, by anybody. This fuss is not for nothing! It's an ethical question.

FYROM has changed its flag, removing the 12-beam symbol of the Royal Ancient Macedonian Dynasty of Philip, to a 12-ray symbol, reppresenting the Sun. They have also changed an article of their constitution that was leaving open the issue for further expansion, claiming the Greek territory of Macedonia. Isn't that enough, as gestures of good will to the Greeks? What else do they want?

The Greeks want the end of falsification and forgery of their History and their Symbols. That includes the name of the newly formed republic of FYROM. It cannot be named "Macedonia" by no means. This word is Greek, belongs to the Greeks and cannot be adopted by any other country.

The name "NEW MACEDONIA" is acceptable for both countries.

No! It isn't. No name that contains the term "Macedonia" can be acceptable. Even as a 2nd part of a 2-word logo.
